Its hardware is modest rather than fast, but the combination of an AMD Ryzen 3 2200U processor, integrated Radeon Vega 3 graphics, 4 GB of memory and a 500 GB hard drive is positioned for documents, web browsing and light multitasking.

This model also keeps some practical features that are less common in newer budget laptops, including an RJ-45 port and a DVD drive. The trade-off is a basic HD screen, average webcam quality and a chassis that is solid overall but not especially resistant in the display lid.

Design and Build

HP uses a dark ash color scheme and a matte plastic chassis with a restrained business look. The body is described as well assembled, without visible gaps between panels, and the rounded corners make the laptop easier to hold. Its main compromises are the low-resolution display, limited brightness, weak viewing angles, noisy key clicks and the combination of 4 GB of RAM with a mechanical hard drive.

If your priority is an inexpensive laptop for documents, browsing, video calls and occasional travel, this model makes sense. If display quality or faster day-to-day responsiveness matters more, the limitations are harder to ignore.
