Editor note: This article is an original English adaptation of a Notebook-Center.ru review, prepared by the Notebook Center Editorial Team.

Overview

The Lenovo ThinkBook Plus Gen 2 is a business-oriented notebook with an unusual dual-screen layout. Alongside the 13.3-inch main display, it adds a 12-inch E-Ink touch panel on the lid for quick notes, reading, and simple document work. In this tested configuration, it combines an Intel Core i7-1160G7, Intel Iris Xe Graphics, 16 GB LPDDR4x memory, and a 1 TB SSD.

Design and Build

The chassis is metal, dark gray, and compact for a dual-screen concept. Build quality is described as solid, with minimal flex and no creaking in normal use. At 1.16 kg and 13.9 mm thickness, it remains easy to carry. The hinge opens to 180 degrees, and the stylus has its own storage area near the power button.

Display, Audio, and Webcam

The main 13.3-inch panel uses a 16:10 aspect ratio and a 2560x1600 resolution. The source review reports up to 400 nits brightness, matte coating, and responsive touch input. The secondary 12-inch E-Ink panel is monochrome, aimed at notes, reminders, reading, and basic office tasks. Speakers are Harman Kardon units with Dolby Atmos support; sound stays clean at high volume but bass is limited. The webcam is 720p and includes a physical privacy shutter.

Keyboard and Touchpad

The island-style keyboard has large keys, moderate travel, and quiet actuation. Backlighting is present and remains comfortable in low light. The touchpad is large and smooth, with reliable multi-touch gesture support.

Performance

With the Intel Core i7-1160G7 and Iris Xe integrated graphics, the system is tuned for office workloads, web work, messaging, and light content editing. The 16 GB LPDDR4x memory is not upgradeable in this configuration. A 1 TB SSD provides fast storage and enough room for large work files.

Ports and Battery Life

Physical connectivity is minimal but modern: two Thunderbolt 4 ports and a combo audio jack. Wireless support includes Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. The 53 Wh battery is quoted at around 11 hours in standby, about 5-6 hours of regular web use, and around 3-4 hours when both displays are actively used. Fast charging can bring the battery from empty to roughly 80% in about one hour.

Verdict

The ThinkBook Plus Gen 2 is a niche notebook for users who can benefit from an always-available E-Ink second screen. Its main strengths are the practical dual-display workflow, solid build, and modern connectivity baseline. The main compromise is that the concept fits a specific audience rather than general buyers, and runtime drops significantly when both screens stay active.
